wow, what an amazing and intense last few weeks. we landed back in seattle a few days ago and are now unwinding and catching up on some well needed rest.

we feel so blessed to have so many friends & family members give their valuable time and effort to help us make our wedding day possible. we'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone again for their well appreciated help.

a special mention (in no particular order) to....

the groomsmen (winston, mike & bren) for helping out before, during and after the wedding day with a huge variety of tasks, especially being such cooperative personal assistants on the day.

the bridesmaids (archana, lydia & grace) for organsing such awesome hens events, each looking so exceptionally hot, and for spoiling me good on the day.

lien, for helping out with all the wedding coordination for the day and dealing so effectively with all the hiccups that came up.  also for all the help behind the scenes before and after, with the ceremony bonbonnieres, setting up the chapel and reception dinner and every other little thing that come up.

jacky for all your generous help with providing and setting up all the audio/visual equipment not just on the day but the rehersal and night prior.  we're also grateful for all the other things you did on the side on your own initiative such as providing video coverage and helping out with setup of the chapel and reception dinner.

the worship team (adelene, melina and matt), for providing a perfect worship set for the ceremony and giving up all the time for practice and rehersal.

andy & lydia for tagging along with the bridal party for most of the day to take candid photos and then skillfully put together a slideshow for the reception dinner

iris, gigi & aunty irene for their willingness to decorate and set up the chapel with all the flowers and decorations and especially for putting in a late night the day before to ensure everything was just perfect

shirley for her abundant creative flair that produced the awesome center pieces for the reception.  thanks for all her enthusiasm, meticulous work and attention to detail.  truely a work of art.

anton (c photography) and his team (serene & kevin) for providing professional photography coverage for the whole day.  thanks for being so flexible and for ensuring all the logisitics and converage went smoothly for the day.

the ushers (dan, christine, sue-yen, christine, iris) for being there to greet and welcome all our guests.

the parking attendants (aaron, nick, nick & mark) for looking so dashing in the parking lot while directing our guests to the chapel and dealing with the parking for the ceremony, or lack of.

the audio/visual team (danny & nathan) for running the slideshows, music & audio mixing for the ceremony.

the videography team (uncle chris, kevin, brendon, uncle yu, jacky) for spending the time to help us film and capture the wedding day for us to remember.

and everyone else who did their small part on the day to make our wedding day so special...

division morale event
Written by Poe Chen
Monday, 05 March 2007

today our division had a morale event where we got to take a day off and snowboard/ski at steven's pass. it was nicely organised - they sorted us out with transportation, breakfast, lunch, open bar, lift passes & rentals (if needed). it was an invaluable experience snowboarding with ppl on my team. we managed to get our managers to hit some prettying big jumps.

one of the guys who boarded in our group for the day was insane. he managed to get 15-20ft of vertical air (4-6m for everyone who isn't american) off some of the jumps. i never really boarded with anyone that skillful before so it was great to get some tips off him. just seeing him in action motivated me to push myself a little further than normal today : )

nate with some pretty decent air (and yes, he did land it!)

be my valentines?
Written by Poe Chen

feb 14th, the day guys dread the most? what do i do? what do i say? what do i buy? our society tells us that this is the one day we're ment to show love to our partners. does this mean every other day we put them on the backburner in our lives? haha i hope not..

its amazing to see what valentines day has become. the commercialisation of this day in the US is much much much worse compared to australia. restaurants are booked out months in advance. all of them have "special menus" which are really just their normal menus except with hiked up prices. it's very difficult to find a decent restaurant in seattle that doesn't charge a "reservation fee" just to have dinner on this day. finally the price of red roses are increased by 50% nearly a week before the actual day.

we decided to spend our first valentines together in seattle by eating in & sharing a bottle of white wine. i cooked frances what i must say was a scrumptious crumbled chicken and zucchini marinara pasta. after dinner we were ment to go out and watch a movie together, but after frances suggested "can we just stay in and watch a video? i cant be bothered getting changed", so we ended up watching a few episodes of scrubs and then the movie "the pursuit of happiness".

all in all, a perfect valentines day with my special girl.
