as most of our friends and family know, and the people who visit out site, we had planned to get married on november 26th. it has been a tough road organising this wedding and now we are here making it official on our site that as of last week, we decided to cancel the wedding. it was the toughest decision to make together but when we realised that we were planning a wedding that neither of us were looking forward to or had dream of for our wedding day we knew it was the right thing to do. marriage is going to be a challenging journey and starting a marriage with a wedding day both of us would have resented would not have been the wisest choice. so thanks so much to all our friends and family who have given us heaps of help and support. |

today i conducted my very first interview for microsoft (as one of the interviewers). i was so nervous preparing for the interview and even more nervous when i started the interview. it didn't make any sense - i'm pretty sure i was more nervous than the candidate : ) my nervousness disappeared quickly though and i really enjoyed meeting the candidate and trying to explore his skills, his potential and his fit for the position. being involved in interviewing and recruitment has been a goal of mine for awhile. i remember back when i was on the other of the fence, interviewing for different jobs, i'd always be looking out for what made an interviewer good and effective because i knew that one day i wanted to also be a good and effective interviewer. just the thought of being part of the recruitment process, being able to believe in someone's vision, passion and potential and being able to help make that decision to hire them, is just an amazing privilege. hopefully next time i wont' be sweating so much when i conduct my next interview oh yeh, heres a funny dilbert cartoon that i found when searching online for information about microsoft interviews |
