just picked up my keys to my new apt! when i rented it, i didn't have the luxury to see the place before signing the lease, so today was the very first time i got to see the place! when i walked in... my first impression was... wowwwwww this place is PIMP! frances is going to love it! second thought... oh yeh frances likes double sink kitchens... let me check if it has one.... YES! phewwww third thought... now i need to find a place where me & frances can store our snowboards i can't wait for frances to arrive... i'm really looking forward to starting a new life with her... 10 weeks & 1 day left. |

the last few weeks ive been feeling like ive been stuck in reverse. the wedding has been a delight to organise but put in the family issues that seem to come along with it and its not a good place to be in. i decided i needed a break. a break to just relax, be refreshed, refocus, and just to forget about everything for a short while. it was probably the best decision ever. now i can put away the staple gun that i was planning to use to shoot myself in the leg. this is what a relaxing weekend entails: indulging in a nice long massage
laughing at the silly antics of nature
pigging out on my favourite icecream
 sitting back sipping hot coffee
chilling out with good friends |

the world is spinning by while youre standing still
you just want to burry your head and not know
your back is up against the wall
youre standing on the wrong side of the fence
you just want to crawl into a dark hole and hide |

this is a semi-embarassing moment of fame for me... published in the Study at UWA 2007 Guide, i totally forgot until today that UWA took some photos of me a year ago and asked me to write a bit about studying at UWA.
man.. i have no idea why they chose such a bad photo.. i look all asian with my squinty eyes.. given the professional photographer took many many photos, i'm sure there was at least one photo better than this one! i was talking to janlyk about it and we were wondering... when high school kids see this.. will it encourage them or discourage them to study computer science at UWA : ) |

labor day weekend is here! i went looking for a snowboard for frances in preparation for the coming snowboarding season. researching womens snowboards for a few days now, i decided i would look for a board meeting this criteria (in order of importance) well priced intermediate/advanced level good for freestyle / park riding nice cute girly design
so i found 2 boards at a snowboard sale , the salomon radiant and the salomon lotus.
it took me ages at the store to pick which one i would get for her. the radiant board was over 40% off & was an intermediate/advanced park freestyle board. the salomon lotus was about the same price as well, but more of a beginner/intermediate board. not so good for park & freestyle boarding. the problem was... i thought the lotus board had a much much better design. a lot cuter - i like baby blue a lot : ) if i strictly followed the criteria listed above, then the radiant would win hands down. after 30 mins of reasoning to myself and changing my mind several times, i finally decided to go with the radiant board - the not so good looking but much better performance board. driving home, i was thinking about what i'd ultimately prefer to see - frances on a good looking board or frances hitting some jumps & rails on the slope. fortunately that one is a no-brainer for me : ) |
